Since first picking up a camera, street photography has attracted me more than any other genre. The raw and unfiltered perspective it empowers later inspired my documentary filmmaking career.
At a young age, my friends and I would spend all day skateboarding across our town and scouring abandoned buildings with nothing but my camera. I began capturing these street scenes from our exploits and slowly started discovering other subcultures such as punk and graffiti.
Making friends in these new worlds expanded my knowledge of urban and suburban America and heavily piqued my interest which culminated in me moving to San Francisco at age 17 to live, learn, and shoot one of the most artistic, and troubled, cities of our day.
